I am very pleased with this cutter. I can have a mountain of potatoes cut up in just a few minutes. The prep that used to take me an hour now takes 10 minutes, including clean up. I definitely recommend this for anyone who eats a lot of fries. Some other thoughts: It does take some force to get the potatoes through. I don't think it's an unreasonable amount, but it's not like cutting butter. There's a bit of an art to it and once you get used to it running potatoes through goes very quickly. It is heavy built and stands up fine to the pressure of shoving through regular potatoes. I don't know that it would work as well for sweet potatoes but I have not tried to say personally. The suction cups are strong and work very well. Almost too well - lightly set the cutter on the counter and it sticks! It is big and awkward to wash. But even with that, the time it saves is well worth it and washing only takes a few minutes. My gripes on the cutter are simply a function of it being a big, commercial cutter. It is designed as it has to be to do it's job. For someone that cuts up a couple potatoes once a month it probably isn't worth it. We do a dozen potatoes or more several times a week. If you just expect those few things going in you will wonder how you got along without it!
