My 3 year old son loves it, and more importantly, can operate it by himself using the remote control. I clicked the track pieces together in a matter of just a few minutes. Can be round, oval or elongated oval. Oval fits easily around our tree. My 6 year old was able to connect the four cars by herself. I like the big 5 inch tall cars. The three cargo boxes come out of one of the cars; my son fills them with matchbox cars, etc. It rarely derails- only when he shifts it forward to reverse to quick I think. The bell, whistle, and engineer sounds are fun. A good buy for my 3 & 6 year olds. And I think they'll enjoy it for many years.
