Great Vacuum with some issues that may be a dealbreaker for some...
We bought a Shark DuoClean after all of the RAVE reviews and we had it for 2 days before realizing that it was not meant for long haired dogs. Back to the drawing board, I found this vacuum, it was a pretty new release, very little reviews or information online about it but it met almost all of my wants in a vacuum (more on that in a minute). I'm glad we took the plunge because it has been a great vacuum so far! I'll go over some of the pros and cons, to each their own, this is just my list and opinions.
Pros;
Nice light at the front, swivel head is great and convenient to maneuver, big canister, tangle free brushroll and I love that the brushroll automatically stops if something gets caught in it, AMAZING suction, brushroll off feature, suction control, and the way that the hose detaches into a small handle and a large handle so easily!
Cons;
Canister does not detach (i knew this when buying it but it's still a con for me), brush attachment is absolutely useless (even on low pile carpet and upholstery it completely stops when it is placed down, I honestly turn the suction all the way down and vacuum our beds and carpets with the entire vacuum and it does a great job), difficult to maneuver on stairs (have not really found a solution for this), brushroll off feature is also somewhat a con, while it doesn't kick stuff up on hard floors it also doesn't really suck everything up passed the brushroll, my solution is to vacuum the entire hard floors and then i roll the brush over to our carpet and turn the brushroll on and then it sucks everything up without kicking debris all over the place. (Something that may be a con for others but not for me is the vacuum is not self propelled, it is very easy to move along but I can definitely feel a difference between this one and our old self propelled Hoover, this vacuum is also not lightweight IMO, I mean there are certainly heavier ones on the market but this would not be good for someone who is unable to lift something a bit heavier and awkward).
Final thoughts; even though the vacuum has quite a few cons that I thought I would not be able to live with in my initial search for a vacuum, I have found that I am able to work around them to the point that they do not bother me and the pros outweigh them for me. I am disappointed that I am pretty much unable to vacuum my stairs with this vacuum, I usually have to bring in our shopvac with our long hose attachment to do it. I think this will be a vacuum you will either love or hate, depending on your needs, for some people this may not be "the one" but overall for OUR needs it has been great!
