A real improvement over the original!
I bought the original NRG's from Symphonized a few days ago, and after some initial burn in and testing, I fell in love with those earphones. By far the best bang for your buck in terms of sound quality, comfort, and noise isolation. However, I had a few gripes with them: they did not work well with my phone (iPhone 6) due to randomly pausing and playing music and activating voice control, the fabric cord was easy to tangle and had static noises when rubbing against your clothes. Well, I decided to return them despite their sound in order to try the updated 2.0's, which seemed to address those issues. Lo and behold, they certainly did! Well, for the most part. The NRG 2.0's improve upon the design of the originals ever so slightly, however it is enough to make the difference to make me keep these. The 2.0's main difference is that the fabric cord is now coated in a thin, transparent layer of plastic, which doesn't fee too bad actually. It definitely solves the tangling issue, however there is still some noise when rubbing against your clothes, though it is barely noticeable when listening to music. But another new feature that solved my original deal breaking issue is that they revamped the 3.5mm audio jack. Now, instead of using a metal ring at the base of the jack, they switched to a plastic or other synthetic material. This helps the jack fit much better in the iPhone and eliminates the accidental circuit caused by the old metal ring and the phone's metal exterior. See pictures for examples of the metal ring.
Overall, the 2.0's are essentially the originals with a step up in design. The same, surprisingly good sound is still there, coupled with my insane sound isolation and comfort, topped off with a beautiful design as well as improved cable and audio jack elements. A real treat for the cost!
