I think it’s important to point out that you will like these sheets IF you like cotton sheets. I can’t speak for everyone, but my impression of some of the negative reviews are that people are complaining about things that are normal qualities of cotton sheets. 1. These are good, crisp sheets that keep you at a cozy temperature. I never feel too cold or overheated with them. 2. Yes, cotton sheets need a few washes to soften up. Any time I get new cotton sheets, I give them an initial wash in warm water with a cup of baking soda (no detergent!). Cotton sheets often have chemicals added to them that make them feel stiff, and apparently detergent can “lock” these in. Then I give them a second wash with detergent and fabric softener. These sheets were already almost as soft as a 5 year old set of sheets after just those two washes! 3. Cotton wrinkles. Relax. I am not normally bothered by this, so it’s possible I’m not noticing it, but I haven’t had any issues with these sheets being wrinkly. 4. The sheets are thick enough to not see my mattress’s pattern, even though I have them in white. 5. The deep pockets are deep enough, with room to share, for my extra giant mattress. All in all, I’d recommend these! Just make sure you know what you’re getting.
