I needed something to clean out the minor debris that was too big for the filters but small and dense enough that it settled to the bottom and couldn't be skimmed. After looking at several different items I found this claiming to need nothing to power it except suction. Skeptical but willing to at least give it a try, I used it to clean my spa and what a difference it made. Not meant to remove a beach from a spa, it provides about 15 seconds of a vacuum before you have to lift it out and let it regain its air. If you are trying to clean a lot at one time it might get tiring but it will get the job done, however it is made for low cost low energy maintenance and cleaning, and works perfectly in that capacity.
