a MUST BUY ladies!!!
Definitely something you’ll want to purchase to save money this one kit is less than my manicures at the shop. I got this along with a little electric nail drill ($15) and 48w UV lamp($23)(required to cure your Polygel) all purchased from amazon prime. Let me tell u I saw an ad on Polygel nails and was immediately interested. I have a knack for wanting to know how something is done, how it works, how it’s created, etc. So yeah my bf thinks this is just another one of my new obsessions/hobbies. I watched SO MANY YT videos before ordering. LonghairPrettyNails on YT even shows that u can mix a little of this with a gel polish and make your own color Polygel but she made applying Polygel look SO easy so I gave my nails a go. I was worried about the bottle sizes being so small but a little goes a long way. I did maybe 2 practice nails on my 8yr old (practice on yourself or your own personal/willing lab rat) they turned out so good I went ahead and did my own. One thing I like is I don’t have to worry about someone carelessly drilling away my natural nails. Just a light buff with the hand file is fine. First I did them with the nail forms. They were for sure cute as heck but I could see my real nail through them too much so I added more Polygel on top and shaped it with the brush & slip like you would do acrylic powder. I was scared AF to do this part but it turned out good and it did need a little drilling and buffing. As far as being able to see the nail goes, Yes some of these are translucent but the ‘light apricot’ color can be opaque when u add it thick enough and it’s really a beautiful natural nudepink... and the nude, light pink, and white are all opaque also. Anyways, they turned out AMAZING. I did them better than most nail techs I’ve went to. DONT SKIP THE BASE COAT. I forgot it on one nail and it popped the heck off in about an hour. All in all it is definitely worth every penny. I’ve gotten compliments and my sister doesn’t believe me when I say I did these myself. I even got a few folks wanting to pay me to do theirs after I talked about how light weight and non damaging these are. For sure I’ll be practicing more and purchasing more!
Update: not sure when I first posted my review but it’s July 7 now and nails and still holding up fine. Maybe the ladies who say theirs are breaking aren’t curing it long enough!??? Idk mines are holding up fine so don’t give in and waste your $. Here’s how I applied mine. Try putting a nail on and just cure it under the UV long enough to stick, maybe 20-30 secs, repeat until all nails are on that hand. Try curing for 2 mins then flip your hand to the other side and cure for 2 mins. Add what ever your gonna put on top (polish, top coat, etc) and cure 1 min.
