Modify Your Technique for Better Results
This stripper works great for kale, collard greens and most chard (as long as the stem isn't too wide) however there is a technique to using it that makes it work much better.
After putting the stem into the smallest hole it will fit, pull the stem through in a series of short tugs, not a single long pull. If you pull it through all at once the leaves seem to jam up and cause the stem to break off too soon. I like the stem really thoroughly stripped out and it will do that if you tug-stop, tug-stop, tug-stop. That lets the leaves release from the hole and lets more of the stem pass through the hole before it breaks off.
If your leaves are all the same size and flat, it is still faster to stack them and cut the stems out with a knife. But for different sized or curly greens, this little tool work well.
I hope this review helps!
