I met an old woman who told me how to fight a cockroach invasion I was having at my apartment as a nearby building, which was infested with them, was torn down and they moved into my building. She repeatedly said "Peppermint oil". I shopped around on Amazon because of the many choices and brands and prices and settled on Majestic Pure and ordered it several months ago. I put drops into little caps and lids in my kitchen and, knock on wood, no roaches so far. The dropper they supply is of great quality. There is no guarantee, but having studied these most evolved and adaptable insects, and come to find out, they breathe through their bodies as they do not have lungs so to speak and they hate the aromatic aroma of peppermint. When I enter my apartment, I smell it and smile knowing that it is working keeping the bugs away. It is definitely an aromatic and I enjoy inhaling it occasionally when I have a stuffy nose. I cannot attest to any of it's other benefits, but I know there are other ones.
