I like both for different reasons
I PURCHASED BOTH FILMS - this one, and the cheaper version. I like both for different reasons!
1. Yes, the price difference is justified. The more expensive film creates the rainbows you see in the photos in my house every single day, and is almost too bright to look straight into!
2. The cheaper version is available in a much larger sheet, making it ideal for my sliding glass door. ALSO, because it has less strong rainbows, I can look directly into it when the sun is shining and it doesn't burn my eyes. Light rainbows appear when the sun shines through it, but not in a "prismatic" way like the expensive one.
3. Application for these two products is slightly different. The stronger/more expensive film has a sticky back and is easier to install. The cheaper/less bright film has a "cling" back that only sticks if you follow the instructions for installation very carefully. (Another benefit of the cheaper film is it's ability to be removed/reattached repeatedly at the bottom - I roll it up a few inches each morning so the cats can look out the window and then roll it back down in the evenings so no-one can see in my balcony door.)
EDIT: upon moving out of the apartment I had these installed in, the more expensive film would not peel off. The cheaper one easily came off.
