Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

Coming from another brand which did the job decently, I found myself in the need of a newer product without decade-old technology. Amazon reviews was my primary research resource, and I came upon this product and this brand as Amazon's Top Choice, and with glowing reviews. Previously: What I was coming from: a basic monitor that was also highly rated. It ticked all the boxes of non-wifi (for security reasons), day/night mode, talk-back functionality, and serviceable video resolution. However, this was with a new-born up til about 3-4 years old. The primary role that unit filled was making mainly for "middle of the night cries". This product: Fast forward a few years (ok, well 2 years), and I'm with a 6 year old who likes to be out of bed and roam about the room instead of going to sleep. I was less concerned about the temperature alarms, and more concerned about supervising the actions of my child. In this role, this product really shines. Video quality is excellent during day and reasonable during night. Unlike some other monitors that disable audio/video until movement or sound thresholds, this has the ability to standby with the screen off...effectively becoming an audio-only monitor. Great feature for me, as I don't have to rely on any setting threshold to grab my attention...I can keep my "ear to the ground", so to speak, at all times. And the range? lets talk about the range. Range: my previous monitor worked well within close proximity in a 1500 sq. ft. 2-story townhome. However, step out of the confines of the home and stop by the neighbors? Not possible. With this one, no problem at all. Multiple walls and floors and roughly 60-80 ft away, and the picture still remained very clear and consistent, unlike the previous monitor that would cut in-and-out with annoying (and non-customizable, which this product DOES provide) alert tones. Overall, I give this product a 5 stars due to features, clarity, quality, and range. I would absolutely recommend this to you as well as to any friends who are in the market for a child monitor.
