I cook for just my husband and myself, so I ordered the 3 cup rice cooker. My old Salton would do as other reviews complained about water sputtering all over the place, so I figured this one would too because some people mentioned the same problem with this one. I just did my first batch of rice and I was very pleased that I had no spatter at all. I cooked brown rice and followed the measurements of rice to water as directed. The one thing I did do differently was add a little bit of olive oil to the dry rice and coated the rice with it by gently shaking the pot. Then added the water. This may have helped keep the starchy water from forming. The rice turned out way better than my old cooker too. Big thumbs up!
