I did quite abit of research before finally purchasing this bike from amazon. Amazon had the best pricing around, about 1/2 of what some other retailers are charging and it shipped quickly. I ordered the bike on sunday afternoon, on tuesday i got an email telling me it was being dispatched. By thursday the bike showed up at my door. The box was in very rough shape, so the trucker driver and I decided to unbox it on the truck and take it in piece by piece. This was actually easier than trying to get the massive box on a cart and wheeling it indoors. Once inside i had about a dozen pieces consisting of about 4 boxes and some loose parts. Assembly: Once i got the main unit where i wanted it to be (front wheels roll on the ground making it very easy to move) i started the assembly. The screws, washers, etc come packaged very nicely. Each set of screws and washers are in their own compartment and are labeled so you don't use the wrong ones. It also includes all the tools needed to complete the job from start to finish. The assembly took roughly an hour from start to finish and each part seemed to fit exactly as it should. The instructions are very clear and include an exploded view illustration that is labeled with each step so you can follow along very easily (1-1, 1-2, etc). I ran into no snags what-so-ever during the assembly and once it was finished it looked beautiful. Mat: I ended up buying a mat at the same time to put on my wood floors so the unit would not wobble or rub on the flooring. I'm glad i made this decision. Just be sure to get a 6.5' at and not a 6ft mat as the unit is slightly longer than 6'. I opted for the diamond pattern mat, i figured since it was a DIAMONDback bike that it was fitting, heh. The mat is great and came a day earlier than the bike so i had time to lay it flat where i wanted the bike before it showed up. Use: Well after the unit was assembled of course i had to take it for a spin. I had a cheap recumbent bike in its spot until it showed up that i have been using for the past few weeks. The old bike was very uncomfortable and cheap. It was very loud and the calorie counter was way off. So of course to my suprise when i sat on the bike it was very comfortable and the pedaling action was very smooth. The bike is completely silent when pedaling which took me abit to get used to. The unit also allows for you to put in certain particulars about yourself so it can accurately count the calories you burn. The unit can store 2 users and takes your weight and age to figure out the correct heart rate for your exercise programs. All in all this unit has exceeded my expectations and will serve me well for years to come. Afterthought: I'm very impressed with the bike, its construction and am glad i chose this model over the 900sr which i almost bought because it was about $250 cheaper. After scouring the web i found i site that reviewed both bikes and gave the 1000sr a slightly higher rating. The console is great and displays all the info you need, the heartrate monitor is top notch, the operation is smooth and the resistance is well executed. At this point i have no complaints and amazon did a great job getting the bike to me at a great price and in record time. The time of delivery on the website estimated it would be delivered on Nov 3-5, but its Oct 29 and i'm already enjoying the benefits within 4 days of placing the order. If you are on the fence between this bike and the 900sr, i hope this review will steer you twords this bike. I don't have a 900sr, but i do have the 1000sr and absolutely love it.
