How to make this water leak sensor super effective!
Bought 4 packs for a total of 12. All of them worked. The battery is a tight fit. The water sensor contacts did not sit as close to the surface as some other water leak detectors, meaning it requires more water depth before the water touches both contacts and completes the circuit. I came up with an easy solution to make this water leak detector extremely effective for detecting just a little bit of water nearby (see photos): 1) First I took a small rectangular piece of toilet paper about 1 x 3 inches. 2) I rolled it up lengthwise and scrunched the center part into several folds. 3) I stuffed the center part into the space between the metal contacts. 4) I rested the sensor on a sheet of paper towel. The beauty of this setup is it doesn't require much water to set the alarm off, any nearby water that soaks into the paper towel will also soak the toilet paper and wet the region between the two metal contacts, completing the circuit and setting off the alarm.
