★★★★☆
A great entry system to VR, but runs too hot during heavy use for my comfort.
Pros: Inexpensive, capable Oculus Rift ready gaming machine. Very capable hardware at a bargain basement price. Cons: Runs hot during heavy gaming. Over the top "styling", Wifi should be built in instead of taking a USB dongle.. Keyboard and mouse could use some work, but really splitting hairs here. The red and black extreme styling is a bit over the top, but I've seen worse. What you get, is a quality machine, with pretty good parts at an absolutely amazing price. The cooling, however is substandard due to the case design. You have three input fans and one exhaust fan. All of them variable speed. Yet the plastic front cover has only small top and bottom vents. This seems to provide unnecessary restricted airflow. Taking off the front cover opens up the fans, but also the possibility of something catching on them. And while I've never had a problem, yet, my GPU did approach to 90C during a heavy gaming period. If you are anticipating heavy gaming you probably should remove the cover to allow better airflow through the case. And while I don't think you'll damage any components with the heat It's just a headache. The case manufacturer obviously sacrificed airflow for aesthetics. I prefer my computer run cool instead of look cool.
