Great feeder and easy to use but not so tamper-proof for mischevious pets. I have two cats on a much needed diet, and I travel semi-regularly. This is a god-send for portion control and regular feeding. The alternative was a Goodyear Blimp shaped feline with insecurity issues because I would "free-feed" while I was away. With this feeder, we're now just down to insecurity issues. That said, my cats are smart when it comes to activities that result in shovelling as many kibbles into their face holes as possible. Didn't take them long to figure out how to tip this thing over and unleash a feast fit for feline kings. Kibbles were everywhere. The lid is a simple springloaded sliding latch mechanism that holds up to almost now pressure from within (you know, the kind that would arise when the angular momentum of a body of kibbles is subjected to a sudden urge to accelerate at 9.8m/s^2 at an angle perpendiculur to its previously steady state). We tried tape. We tried string. We tried stacking heavy objects all around the thing. Eventually, we just had to build a stand to mount this thing on. As an unexpected positive side effect, with this thing raised about 20" with no dish to catch the kibbles, the cats now get to enjoy an unexpected shower of kibbles three times a day, much like the Hebrews on their exodus from Egypt. Its fun to watch. But I digress. Plenty of easy-to-use settings and buttons. Great great battery life. Fantastic optional power cord. Needs a sturdier, more secure lid. TL;DR: Good feeder. Any cat not happy with its portion size will find a way to correct their greivance to the detriment of your household's tidiness.
