So while I love these headphones, I'm on my third pair now, they last about a year for me before dieing. At first I thought it was failing cables, but whenever I opened the headphones up, there was no continuity between the two sides of the driver, so it turns out the problem is the micro wires going from the driver to the solder points, the micro wires run under the soft glob of yellow goop below the solder points, but the black cable runs over top of this goop, over time the black wire pushing around breaks the micro wires, This explains why moving the black wire around can sometimes temporarily fix a failing speaker. So the theoretical repair for this brand new set of headphones is to put a layer of super glue gel over the yellow glob to give a hard layer that the black wire can't push through, will update with results down the line. Update - 3-10-21 This pair is still working, and I haven't been careful with them. They live stuffed in a suitcase full of A/V equipment, rolled around every weekend.
