This is a review for the Kindling Cracker Firewood Kindling Splitter by Kindling Cracker. I bought this as a humorous Christmas gift for my son. Once he took off the fancy bow, naturally we had to go play with it straight away. A half hour later and we're back inside with armloads of kindling. The splitter works perfectly and is even better than advertised. I've had fireplaces and wood stoves for my entire life, and figure I've seen every kind of splitter and maul by now. I had expected the Kindling Cracker to be good, but how could it be much of an improvement on what's already out there? Well, surprise, surprise - it's good and better. I couldn't be happier with this thing and here's why: I haven't been able to split kindling for a few years because of a bum shoulder, but today I discovered that with the Kindling Cracker I'm able to split SINGLE HANDED (with my trusty 4# Stanley sledge) all the kindling I'm in the mood for. I can even do it sitting down. This turned out to be a huge surprise gift for me because I never expected that I'd be able to split wood again. My son loves it, too, and the only downside is now we have to take turns. Clean design, bullet-proof, super stable. The round top makes comfortable in the hand to carry. Edit: I just bought an Estwing MRF3LB 3-Pound Sure Strike Fiberglass Drilling Hammer and it works even better than the Stanley for me. If this review was helpful, please click "yes" below.
