This filter is great! It’s just as effective, and far more economical, than the medical grade room filter it has replaced. I’m writing this review primarily to address what one reviewer described as a “fatal flaw,” namely the light atop the unit that dims but cannot be completely turned off, making it “useless in a bedroom” to said reviewer. I also found the light distracting in a darkened bedroom, but I would like to suggest a cheap and easy remedy. A 1 3/4 inch felt pad (pictured separately) can simply be rested (not affixed, lest you render the power switch inoperable) over the circular power button and lighted area. If you situate it with the felt side down (as separately pictured), the white adhesive label complements the white plastic cover and does not interfere at all with the filter openings, as it’s a perfect fit. Just slide to the side to operate the power/speed controls, then slide back over the circle to again cover the light. If you pick up a package of these felt pads, it’s a 10 cent fix.
