We bought this product after viewing it in a retail store, so we knew what we were getting in to. After using the cots separately (as individual cots) on our family vacation, I realized a few things: 1. Set-up is a breeze, unless you arrive at your campground at dusk and all your headlamps/flashlights are "lost" amongst the camping gear. However, if you are able to locate each piece as you grope around in the dark, it is simply a matter of sliding the poles through the canvas pockets, securing them to the "discs", and snapping the discs in place. 2. The cot is wide enough for an average adult, but add a cold, tired, two year old and you're going to have issues. 3. Each cot individually is extremely sturdy and easy to set up, but be careful not to bring your preteen daughters along. Through the use of ninja persuasion skills only girls seem to possess, they will steal your cot on night two of your trip, with the promise that their mattress is much more comfortable. It is not. 4. When you're finally ready to go home, the cots break down easily. With a firm pull, the "discs' slide easily out of their slot, which will give you a chance to knock your seven year old in the face. 5. If your husband is a former football player and he happened to be the center of the offensive line, he may have issues with his shoulder(s) the following day. (See number 2.) Overall, a great purchase! One bonus is, when grandma visits, the bottom cot can be set up on wood floors without the fear of scratches and dents, due to the rounded legs. However, it does sit low to the ground, so good luck getting up out of that thing, Granny.
