Best I've ever taken!
For me the question of whether or not to take probiotics is an unequivocal and emphatic Yes! Here's why: Over the past three decades of experimenting with treatments including taking steroids, NSAIDS, vitamin supplements and antibiotics, it became clear that no single treatment was the answer. Not that I believe in panaceas, but it was when my doctor wanted to place me on a risky immune-blocking drug that I decided I'd had enough. I decided my health was in my own hands and I needed to become more informed about my own health. I took it upon myself to start researching autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation and to learn more about my gut. It wasn't long after this I learned I had a gluten-related disorder and immediately embraced the gluten-free diet. Within three days I was feeling better than I'd felt in more than a decade. Each day it seemed my rheumatoid arthritis was diminishing. I had less bloating and constipation. I was sleeping better and not awaking in the middle of the night. Skin rashes vanished. My energy level shot sky high. It felt good to regain some of my strength and stamina; but eventually I would plateau. A new level of health had been reached and became the norm. While I did have occasional setbacks for the most part I never reverted back to where I was a decade before. Having reached this point I wasn't about to give up and accept a partial recovery. The gluten-free diet had taken me a long way down the road to better health, but I felt I could go farther. So I started experimenting once again with various supplements including probiotics. I had read about numerous studies from the National Institutes of Health on the potential benefits of taking them and their positive impact on the microbiota (gut bacteria). So I decided to investigate the various ones on the market. I had to be careful because so many supplements and prescription drugs contain gluten and I wanted to be sure to find a gluten-free probiotic. I finally found one and started noticing a difference in about a week. My bloating and constipation began to subside. The old familiar feeling of a growling stomach returned after many years of hibernation. I could actually go to the bathroom without a lot of effort. The probiotic that made the difference is PRO-15 by HyperBiotics. The pill is like no other I've laid eyes upon. It's small and round, which makes it easy to swallow. No getting stuck halfway down my throat. It's also tasteless and doesn't dissolve on its way to the stomach. Additionally, you only need to take one each day on an empty stomach. Not only is Pro-15 gluten free it's also vegetarian, non-GMO, yeast free, soy free, lactose free and sugar free. It also contains no preservatives, artificial flavors or coloring. If you're looking for a good probiotic that's safe for Celiacs and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitives, I highly recommend this product.
