I bought this through Amazon and like always the item is posted at a lower price after I made the actual purchase, although the 4 stars were not given for that reason. I've had the 2in1 computer for about 4days now and seems like I got a good one (I will continue to post future updates). I read the reviews about the ASUS Transformer Book T100TA-C1-RD(S) 10.1" on Amazon as well as other sites. One major concern I had while reading the reviews was getting a unit with a defective charger/battery. (Abridged below from original post for a shorter read) I gave this product 4 stars because I almost had a heart attack when it wouldn't charge. Left the computer charging at home while I was away at work. When I got home it was fully charged. Set it up and played around with metro mode a little bit. Plugged the power back in so I wouldn't strain the battery when I attached an external USB optical drive. I then got a message stating "plugged in, not charging" at 97%. Went through the manual and no mention about this issue. Then went online and found out this 2 in 1 doesn't actually start charging until battery power is somewhere below 95%. I tested it out and let it drain below 95% a couple of times and each time it charged consistently. So for those of you who are in a panic after experiencing this for yourselves I hope you take solace in reading the above and that you were not alone lol. Furthermore, It does everything I need it to with ease and then some. Keep in mind that this is priced in the competitive price range and like others have said, "it's the most bang for your buck". It's not made for intensive gaming/computing (if you want intensive gaming/computing capability you should be looking at higher end computers) so don't have high expectations in that regard because you will be underwhelmed. I got the 64 gig version without the 500 gig hard drive keyboard base. Onto the good stuff =]. Pros -Light weight small form factor with good sized screen to watch movies and for light game play. -The computer is tuned to be a light weight mobile computing device while retaining the ability to run most full suite software programs like a full fledged desktop can. -Quick start up (thanks to the eMMC drive) -It has USB 3.0 (quick transfers), Micro SD slot, Micro HDMI, Micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth, WiFi, headphone jack, front facing camera -This version comes with a copy of fully licensed Microsoft office 2013 -Battery lasts a while with moderate to heavy use (I got about 7.5-8 hours) -Responsive touch screen -Good keyboard (small as some have said but I have big hands and had no problem readjusting) -Overall construction of the 2 in 1 computer feels very sturdy. (On that note I have no clue how some users are even able to crack their screens with regular use 0.o) Cons: -Hardware is not user upgradable because it is a closed hardware system. (However if you are a more tech savvy user it's just like opening up an iPad or other similar tablets to replace a bad antenna or cracked screen.) -Major scare when you get "Plugged in, not charging" indicator when you try to plug in power cable at 96% and above -No rear facing camera (For the price range and features you get not a big deal to me) -In laptop mode the keyboard swivel, where the tablet half attached, doesn't swing that far back -It is a bit top heavy when in laptop mode and sometimes has a slight tendency to tip over backwards -Rear facing speakers not too loud (But for all the other features you get at this price range I'd still take it) -The mouse pad has a awkward integrated design with right and left click button. The capacitive sensing surface overlaps with the click buttons so when you try to drag and drop something you may experience slight difficulty. However you can learn to get around it with some tricky finger play (haha). That or use a wireless mouse. Not a big issue for me but others it may be a deal breaker. So far, I am happy with this 2in1 computer. It seems like a good investment and for those of you who are on the fence deciding to buy or not buy this 2in1 computer I hope this helps =]. Update:11/29/14 I was one of the lucky ones that got a unit with no problems at all. I have been experimenting and playing around with it. I am not promoting or against this model. It's not a perfect and does have its flaws. You just have to determine if this 2 in 1 laptop is adequate for your own use. This is just my own experience with this device. The device is tuned to run as a light weight mobile device while still having the capability to run a majority of the full suite programs a normal desktop would. One neat thing I learned was if you have an OTG micro to normal USB adapter you can actually run an external HDD or dvdrom off of the micro USB port on the tablet half itself LOL. However, be forewarned it saps the hell out of your battery. Just for fun I tried running Wow and Hearthstone off of this 2 in 1 laptop. Wow ran at 20-25 fps on lowest graphics setting. It was playable!(to my surprise). Hearthstone ran perfectly and smoothly. I also tried to use virtual box on it hoping to install windows 7 on a virtual machine but I had the feeling it wouldn't support it. Virtual box installed just fine but it would not run a virtual machine. It would have been awesome if it worked. So all in all no problems 4 months into my purchase, In fact it does everything I need it to very well. I bought a 64GB samsung pro micro sd for additional storage. One minor thing which I have notice is that when the tablet is attached to the keyboard sometimes the keyboard tends to disconnect and reconnect in windows when I am moving around. Not sure if it is just my unit or if others have experienced this too. I am thinking of getting another one of these as a chirstmas gift because it's currently priced at 299.99 on Amazon. If anyone's else has any questions or anything to add please comment and thank you. Will try to post more updates later on. Update: 12/6/14 My 2 in one is still trucking along and no major issues yet. I went ahead with buying another one of these as a birthday day/early Chirstmas gift, with all the accessories (minus the micro sd card, waiting to get a 128 giger for actual x-mas gift). Glad I took advantage of th 299.99 price tag becuase it jupmed up to 379.99 the day after. So far the person I got it for says she loves it. It fits all her needs perfectly. Will post another update later on to see if she runs into any major issues. Update: 2/6/15 I am 2 for 2. The second one I got as an x-mas gift works without any problems. Seems like some people had the misfortune of getting bad units but both units I have purchased through Amazon work perfectly without fail. My friend Absolutely loves it. She says the battery "just lasts forever". She uses it for class and at work. She doesnt really need to charge it until the end of her day. I on the other hand have found myself having to charge it at least once during my day because I am putting it through the ringer. I got a suggestion to try out the VM again with this unit from Ben (A poster). He posted a link with information on how I might be able to enable VM capabilities with windows 8/8.1. Thanks again Ben! =D. Will post a final update after I try it out.
