When my dad brought this book for me, I was delighted as a small child about 6 years old. I loved the elaboration of the story. It's a fantasy, and children like to know what is next, what is more fantastic, and they know it's just a game. My dad used to peer intently inside my ear and describe seeing a living savanna filled with wild animals. I knew very well that was not true, but I loved playing make believe with him. This book is make-believe. I read it to my child and asked him what else could be in the parade, and that was a lot of fun to have a dialogue just for fun.
