tl;dr I don’t regret buying this bike. 12/mo interest free payment plan, quick delivery and free assembly all through Amazon made it a no-brainer. What I STRONGLY recommend for the beginner, buy padded cycling shorts! I spent an entire weekend researching whether or not to splurge and buy a Peloton as my first spin bike vs downloading the $13/mo app and buying a cheapo spin bike. I read lots of reviews from like-minded, budgeting folks, and majority said they regret not going straight to a Peloton. Andy I’m happy I found those reviews because I do not regret this purchase. Before the bike arrived I downloaded the app and tried some of the runs, walks, and strength training workouts. These instructors are really personable, funny, engaged, I really felt as if they were right next to me and coaching me the entire way. The music that went with these workouts was equally motivating. Even when I was struggling to breathe I found myself trying to sing along to songs or laughing at a comment from the instructor. I knew this would be a lot of fun. After the bike arrived and I purchase the $44 a month membership and hopped on for my first ride. I started with an intro ride, a basic ride for beginners, and I loved the entire 20 minutes. Again the instructor was really personable, and even though this was recorded over a year ago I felt like she was right next to me, encouraging me when I needed it. What I wish I knew was how tough it would be to get used to the saddle. I strongly recommend getting some padded bicycle shorts! it was a huge game changer for the second ride. I went with Amazon because of the 12 months interest free payment plan without performing a credit check. Plus delivery was much faster than going through the Peloton website and the option for assembly was included for free. The Amazon assembly team was very professional and punctual. I had a courtesy call about 15 minutes before they arrived and they took about 30 minutes to assemble the bike and placed it in my garage.
