The size of this cat tower is just right for a corner of the room. The wide base makes it very sturdy, which is what we were going for, since our previous one was pretty wobbly. Our cat is 8, and on the heavy side. She's not so into using the ladder - she just jumps onto the platform. The "fur" on it is soft and blends well with her black/brown fur. The ladder was tricky to put together, and I had to call and send pictures to the manufacturer to get help with it. The thing you have to know is that the brackets go on the outside of the ladder sides, not the inside. I thought it was hard to tell from the photo in the instructions.
