I have owned this case now for several weeks, after having researched just about every iPad mini case I could find on the market. If you're like me and need to feel convinced before committing to a purchase, this is why I chose the ZaggKey Folio. I chose to purchase the iPad mini version of the case, but I believe they also make it for the larger-sized iPads. - I am a touch-typist and appreciate the decent-sized keyboard on the ZaggKeys Folio. Compared to almost every other iPad mini case on the market (except for the ZaggKeys Cover, which has the identical keyboard) the ZaggKeys keyboard is one of the most large and comfortable. It also includes a row of native iPad function buttons, such as home, lock, volume, and other function keys. - The overall size and form factor of the iPad without a case is appealing to me, and I wanted to preserve as much of that feeling within a case as possible. The ZaggKeys Folio is a thin design and lightweight case, and does not feel bulky. - Some iPad cases use a flap or stand to hold the iPad upright, which limits the range in potential viewing angles. The ZaggKeys Folio holds the iPad just like a laptop so the screen can be adjusted forward and backward. It also has no problem holding the screen in place, as the hinge is very strong. Just yesterday I was working on my iPad in a room where light coming from behind me caused a glare that was quickly fixed by tilting the screen a bit. - The iPad mini snaps into the ZaggKeys Folio case so that the keyboard folds against the iPad screen, and a cover protects the back of the iPad from scratches and impact damage. The fact that the case protects the back of the iPad is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to me in a case. As a side note, the ZaggKeys Cover is also a great case, but has no protection for the back of the iPad. Otherwise the cases are basically the same. - A feature that didn't seem essential at first, but is now MUCH appreciated is the ZaggKeys Folio backlit keyboard. Using the keyboard case while in bed, a dark room, or being able to work while on a plane is comfortable and convenient. It has three brightness settings, and a pretty wide range of different colors for the backlight to choose from as well. - The battery life on this keyboard is pretty insane. It is supposed to last for months when being used for hours a day (not considering the backlit keys power usage), and even while using the backlit keyboard the battery will last for weeks. It also has a battery indicator so you can feel confident about its power level, and the battery has no "memory" (meaning that you can recharge it while the battery is already partially charged and it won't hurt the long-term battery life). Another nice feature is that the keyboard goes into a standby mode while not in use for a little while, but wakes up instantly as soon as you go to use it again. - A feature that does not bother me, but could be worth mentioning is that this case is designed to hold the iPad in landscape (horizontal) orientation. I don't often NEED to have my iPad in portrait orientation, but when I do simply holding the case sideways works fine. The iPad can also be quickly and easily removed from the case for use in portrait mode (perhaps for reading). All in all, I am a picky person, spent a considerable amount of time researching the best iPad cases available, and this is my choice.
