More stick then suction but I pulled and repositioned several times to get it where I liked it while driving. It is attached to a textured dash. Needs to be a flat surface but not necessarily a smooth surface. One edge was pulling up when I attached it to a curved part of the dash. Takes a lot of effort to pull it loose to reposition it. Just below the lever on the rubber part is a small tab to grab hold of to peel loose from the mounting surface. Slow steady pressure seemed to work the best.
