A Most Reliable Rollator
I am a 5'5" 67-yr-old woman who weighs nearly 400 lbs. For the past 7 years, I have used Nova's Mighty Mack. A lot of miles on it and it's still very sturdy. Need new tires and brakes, however. So I decided to look into something else that would fulfill my needs based on the use of a rollator over seven years. I needed a new rollator that would support up to 500 lbs, get through a 30-inch wide doorway better than the Mighty Mack (which is 29" wide), and allow me to adjust the seat height so my feet could fully touch the floor. This OasisSpace Rollator meets all these requirements PLUS provides a deeper and more comfortable seat and backrest than the Mighty Mack. It was quite easy to assemble and adjusting to my body height and handle height. The seat itself is not adjustable, but the legs of the rollator are adjustable which allows the seat to rise or lower. The price of this rollator is far less expensive than the Mighty Mack ($300+). The appearance of this rollator looks like a comfortable chair rather than a walker for the handicapped. It is a pound or two lighter than the Mighty Mack, so getting it in and out of my car won't present a problem. I'm keeping my Mighty Mack for outdoor use (for the time being) so I can keep it in my car, and use my new rollator for indoors. And yes, for my weight, I sit quite comfortably on the seat. I don't feel "squished" and the depth of the seat is wonderful for my ample bottom. It's quite sturdy and I have no fear of the rollator collapsing. The brakes work wonderfully and keep the rollator quite secure so there is no fear of it "rolling away" from me when I sit down. Can't comment on how the breaks work walking up and down steep terrain, but I imagine it will function well if used according to instructions in the manual. So pleased and satisfied with my purchase. On to the next seven years! ;-) UPDATE 3/1/20: I used my new rollator to go out to dinner. I was able to sit in the rollator at the table for the entire meal rather than sitting in the chair and someone temporarily storing my rollator where it wasn't in the way of the servers. I was comfortable for the entire meal. The arm rests were slightly above the height of the table, so I could sit as closely to the table as I needed.
