Well-written story, colorful characters, interesting romantic conflict. But holy heck, if you're a parent, especially of girls, you may want to pass on this one. Or if you're a teacher, or a grandparent, or a counselor, or CASA volunteer ... yeah. The hero falls in love with a girl he's known since her birth. He's a second father to her, except that as she grows to 17, they fall in love and lust. You know, that could happen. The major problem is just when I thought okay, I can do this, the story would flash back to him comforting her as a toddler or changing her diaper, or holding her in his arms as a small child. And then the 'ICK' factor would hit, and hit hard! Just too much verging on pedophilia/child abuse/call it what you want. Creeped me out.
