★★☆☆☆
It’s okay.
I had to buy this printer in a rush because my old eco tank (ET-4750) keeps jamming. When I called, the said it was the motherboard that was broken, which doesn’t make much sense to me when it looks like the rollers are having a hard time grabbing the paper... However, I plan on getting it fixed one day if it’s not too expensive... but it makes me nervous if Epson is scamming me because they acted like there was no way for ME to fix it. I couldn’t order a part, in other words.
So, I bought this printer because I run an Etsy store and I had to get orders out ASAP. I figured I would love this printer as much as I loved my first one until it died.
Pros: colors are much more vibrant. That’s about it.
Cons: it doesn’t connect as well via Bluetooth and takes several minutes to think to print, it’s more expensive than the last printer editions by $200, it’s built cheaper especially the feeding tray and the output tray, the feeding tray also is only in the back and makes the paper sit vertically therefore it curls as it sits there, and finally the worse trait... it uses much more ink than the previous edition. After two years of having the first printer, I only needed to fill the ink two maybe three times. That’s was to print at least 5000 papers in color. I have had this machine for not even two months and my black ink is already half gone. So much for eco friendly.
I’m not impressed with the quality of this printer compared to the older generation. And the difference in price of $200. It’s a shame.
