I Normally do not issue negative reviews based upon my empathy the the entrepreneurs behind the product sold. I bought 8 of these First alert approx. 2.5 years ago and installed them throuhout my house. Its been frustration ever since. One - the batteries do not last very long - approx. 3 to 5 months. its frustrating when the batter alarm goes off - especially in the middle of the night. with 8 of theses installed throughout my house - #@$%^! I bought and isntalled good batteries - duracel.Lately withing the last several months - the alarms started to go off constantly - even with fresh batteries. First it was one alarm, then two and now number three. I do not recommmend these - unless you want to experience what i have gone through. Based upon some of the other reviews I reviewed, apparently my experience is not unique. I now need to research and buy another brand to install in my home. Frustrating
