I have purchased this griddle twice. The first one the electric controller burned out just after the warranty expired. I then purchased this unit again because my wife loved it. This last purchase lasted over two years. Tonight the electric controller burned up. The controller has serious issues and they need to resolve the problem. You may end up burning down your house with this griddle. The photos provided show the burned out controller and the melted plastic on the female side under griddle. If you only use this griddle a couple of times a year - you won't have a problem for a long time. If you use this griddle weekly, you will have a problem. A replacement electric griddle controller (the part that is burned up in the photos) from BroilKing is $27 plus shipping and handling.
