I actually kind of question the newer reviews of this pressure cooker. All of the favorable reviews that sound legitimate are from a couple of years ago, and the most recent reviews seems a little too good to be true. In any case, if you do your research, there are some major problems with this cooker, most notably the fact that it frequently doesn't come to pressure. It'll steam the hell out of some water, but doesn't build pressure to cook food. I checked everything to make sure the seal was sealing, but here's the thing- the countdown timer on Manual and program setting started counting down BEFORE the machine came to pressure. The float valve hadn't risen, and there was not steam to release either naturally or with a quick release. This indicates both a mechanical and an electrical issue, not to mention the three test meals that were wasted fussing about with this machine. Moreover, it's been radio silence from Customer Service. The only good thing was that the inner pot is stainless steel, but who cares when it's basically just a pot? This is defective and disappointing and getting returned.
