A piece of junk!!! I bought this last winter (it was a Lowe's exclusive). The reason behind the purchase: I was happy with my 15 Amp electric Toro which only cost $250, hence the idea of losing the cord with a similar performance seemed very attractive...so I bought it (because the Snow Joe Ion was getting good reviews even with a mere 40 Volts). What a mistake!!! With 6 inches of moderately wet snow, the motor just dies whenever the blades hits the snow, then the same thing happens after I restarted the motor. Utterly frustrated and getting nowhere, I pulled out my old Toro and it handled the snow easily. Lowe's would only allow return of outdoor power equipments within 30 days (instead of the 90 days for everything else). I had to return it as lost receipt and had the lowest sale price they had and lost $100 for this purchase. THIS MACHINE WAS A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. LOOKS GOOD ON PAPER WITH IT'S 80 VOLTS RATING, BUT IMPOTENT AT BLOWING SNOW UNLESS IT'S DRY, FLUFFY SNOW. IF YOU WERE MY FRIEND OR FAMILY, I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM IT.
