The cart is awesome, and honestly, I wish I could have kept it. It's dead simple to assemble, it's sturdy and welding on it would be a pleasure...Unfortunately, the welding surface is galvanized, meaning there's a coat of zinc over the steel. This most likely was done to prevent it from rusting. The problem with this is that when you weld, your workpiece will inevitably be hot, potentially red-hot. Over time you will vaporize the zinc, and if you're not using properly fitting respiration gear, you could get zinc poisoning from breathing in the fumes. It's unpleasant at best, deadly at worse. There were no warnings of this on the description or any paperwork that came with the unit, so there's no easy way to know this. You could use table, and if you have good ventilation and a good, properly fitted respirator with the right kind of protection you might be ok...but why risk it?
