As a long time Kindle fan I expected to love the new Paperwhite, but unfortunately I ended up very disappointed. My first Paperwhite came with 3 issues. 1) various shades of pink, blue, and green on the screen, 2) a glowing speck, and 3) one LCD light brighter than the others which casts a larger area of light in that area. I exchanged that Paperwhite and the replacement I received has the same color hue issues along with a single small black speck. After seeing numerous photos online of Paperwhites, the color hue issue seems to be a widespread defect, along with the glowing specks. A real shame, as the Paperwhite had great potential and would easily be a 5 star product without these defects. I own 3 other Kindles and have never had an issue with any of them, so I was quite shocked at the poor quality control on this unit. Amazon customer service has been good, but it's impossible to get any satisfaction when the replacement units all seem to suffer from the same issues. Overall, a very disappointing experience. This is the first Kindle I am not able to recommend.
