DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE. I initially loved this machine, but upon breaking one of the knives I found out that it is impossible to source replacements for it. I have contacted Brother Authorized Service Centers, online parts providers and the Brother support line - no one has been able to provide replacement blades or a source for blades. This model is shown on the Brother USA site, and one would assume that a serger blade which is a consumable item would be readily available through the manufacturer. Turns out not to be the case. UPDATED - Brother was finally able to provide part numbers for replacement blades.... the price on the upper blade is is $94.50 which is 2 1/2 times the cost of there other sergers. Replacing both the upper and lower blade will run you 1/2 the current cost of a new machine. For these reasons I would choose another brand or model.
