PLEASE RESEARCH. THESE ARE DANGEROUS!
I suffer from crohn's disease and the medication I am on makes my immune system vulnerable and I get sick easily.
I began researching ozone generators because like many here, I had heard about the "benefits" of ozone.
After buying one, I was horrified when I discovered that ozone is in fact dangerous and very bad for our lungs and health.
In fact, the EPA is pleading with consumers to do their research and to avoid ozone at all cost. There have also been many independent studies and research you can read about that speaks to the dangers of ozone. These are machines pumping out toxic gasses that infact are very bad for your health.
Ozone is good in the upper atmosphere, because it blocks off radiation from over penetrating, but that does not mean it's good for human beings to be breathing in.
Like many health fads, it appears this has been a trend that has taken off and has been hard to educate and warn the public on. I felt compelled to write this review so others could be informed and consider the facts before they bought a machine that was infact going to be pumping toxic compounds in their living environment.
The following is a summary from the federal Environmental Protection Agency which is backed up by many independent 3rd party studies.
"Manufacturers and vendors of ozone devices often use misleading terms to describe ozone.
Terms such as "energized oxygen" or "pure air" suggest that ozone is a healthy kind of oxygen. Ozone is a toxic gas with vastly different chemical and toxicological properties from oxygen. Several federal agencies have established health standards or recommendations to limit human exposure to ozone.
When inhaled, ozone can damage the lungs. Relatively low amounts of ozone can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and, throat irritation. It may also worsen chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma as well as compromise the ability of the body to fight respiratory infections."
Please, if you are considering this, do your research. There's a reason when you look up the air quality for your city or region, the ozone level is reported and high ozone is considered bad.
There's no such thing as "good ozone or "bad ozone" to breath, ozone is ozone.
These are dangerous machines.
