I've been using the OXO SoftWorks Little Salad (one of the older models too, I've heard they've made them worse) for years with no trouble. It is hands down my favorite salad-spinner. So when I was in the market for a larger salad spinner, I figured I'd give this a shot. After only a few uses, I heard a loud crack and the spinner mechanism completely separated from the lid, revealing the internal push-to-spin mechanism and it's lube. It was totally unfixable. Thankfully amazon has a great return policy. I'm just glad it broke within 30 days of my purchase. Other reviewers have reported the same thing happening to them. I saw those reviews when I was purchasing and I dismissed them. I definitely did NOT push too hard. I pushed as hard as I did on their little SoftWorks version. The thing is flimsy, the plastic is brittle, and the spinner tray doesn't seat into the bowl as easily as with their old SoftWorks version -- a big disappointment.
