Edit: I gave it a full season. I got baited episode after episode. I wanted, craved to believe there was some major save waiting at episode 8. I am so upset, I am cancelling my prime subscription. damn you rafe judkins, damn you amazon. All the credit i gave you for saving the expanse is dead. Call me whatever you want- I am avoiding your brand for the rest of my life. congrats. Not an adaptation, an interpretation- and a poor one at that. Bad CW level writing, major unnecessary changes from the source material, all the budget went into VFX and even that wasn't impressive. As a fan of the books, I was ready for changes, even major ones- I get the limitations of tv, and the need to adapt things for a wider audience. But this is a majorly disappointing flop, with so many unneeded alterations, and so much hamfisted tacky writing. Honestly find the number of 5 star reviews hard to believe, but hey, they make garbage because garbage sells.
