absolutely ZERO effect after months of use
I specifically waited several months of use before I wrote this review. I used it exactly as advertised and my experience is that it has absolutely no effect. Not even a reduction of hair. I have relatively dark hair and tried it on skin that was as pale as it gets, the ideal condition for this method to work. No effect even after months of use. The idea is that a high intensity flash light is pulsed into the skin. The light is absorbed by the dark hair follicle. As a result it gets so hot that it is damaged and eventually stops growing the hair. I could definitely feel the heat of the flash in my skin but apparently it's not anywhere near enough to actually do any harm on the hair follicles. To make things even worse, the flash tube has a life time of only 1000 flashes and has to be replaced. I happen to have a good technical knowledge of how these flash tubes work. The average life of a flash tube like this is about 150,000 flashes. But the manufacturer wants you to pay for new flash cartridges, so they built in an electronic counter that disables it after only 1000 flashes. The tube could easily do much more. It's a total rip off. I assume that some believe they see an effect as they shave their hair (necessary to continue the treatment) and see less hair during the entire time. I was fooled by this at first as well. Then I stopped using it and let the hair grow back to normal length to see the final effect and sure enough it was just as much and dense as before. I even did a test where I treated one area of my leg and leaving another area right next to it completely untreated. There is absolutely no difference now after months of use.
