Very Short Lifespan - Look for an Alternative!
I bought my second two-pack of these bulbs in January 2017. The two bulbs in the first pack both burned out within a year, but I figured that was just an anomaly. WRONG! I just went through my second two-pack. They're great while they last. But, as many others have said, the lifespan is ridiculously short. The manufacturer may blame our cars for that, but so many people can't all be wrong - at least about this. I strongly recommend looking for an alternative. On a brighter note, I can now change the headlight bulb in my 2008 Highlander in about 3 minutes. :) UPDATE: 1/7/2018 - Ok, somewhere in the thread, somebody mentioned the Daylight Running Light. I always have mine on. As far as I know, this means that the low beam element of this lamp is on for about 2 hours every day. Then, I scoured the packaging to look for life expectancy. I found it on the back of the package. In numbers almost too faint to see, I noticed that these lights are only rate for 145 hours. That's less than 3 months in my case. So, in fairness, I suppose I can't blame Sylvania for poor quality bulbs. What I can - and do - blame Sylvania for is not CLEARLY AND BOLDLY STATING THIS EXTREME LIMITATION. Such a short life span is a big deal and they owe it to the public to be very clear about this. I checked their web site and could not find it. I checked Amazon and could not find it. So, my 1 star review stands - not so much for the poor quality of the bulb, but for the grossly inadequate advertising and lack of clear disclosure of the lifespan.
