Be careful with these detectors... I knew it was going to end badly when I saw the package it came in; yellowed from age, looking straight out of the late 90s/early 2000s. These detectors only have a limited lifespan, even if they're unopened on the shelf. My suspicions were confirmed when the detector started chirping soon after plugging it in. I suspect this item is "new old stock" being liquidated after years in a warehouse. Go with a fresh detector, even if you have to pay more.
