This was the best of the Home Security cameras out there, Until Oct 2, 2017. All of the great features went behind a paywall. No more night mode recordings while you sleep, which by the way is why we buy this type of product. No more time set points for night mode as well, gone! No more recording while home. No two way talk, which they have promised for years then when they finally release the feature, they put it behind a paywall. I've been a patient fan of Canary for 2 years. Waiting patiently while they fixed all the bugs, and worked out issues that would improve function and operation. Giving ideas to there tech support, which is now gone as well. No more can you call and ask for help. My impression is this is the last grasp of a fading company. My guess is they will be filing bankruptcy within one year. There loyal followers are having their post deleted from Canary blogs, mainly because everyone is upset. I guess there trying to cover up the anger that many of us loyal Canary fans have at all of the changes they did in the sneak of the night. They have been advertising for over a month about great changes to the free plan, but all they did was remove all of the features that made Canary great and move them behind a paywall, then take down their phone support so we couldn't call and complain. If all you want is one camera and don't mind paying $9.99 a month, this is for you. However, you should know that expanding to two or three cameras just makes the price go higher and higher. Also, don't waist your time buying a new camera, just go to eBay. I'm sure there will be plenty of lower priced used ones becoming available very shortly.
