I purchased this unit in June of 2012. I used it during the summer months June - August and it worked well. I turned it off and did not try to use it again until the following summer. When I went to use in June of 2013 the unit did not function properly. It would no longer cool the room. I performed a number of troubleshooting steps... checking the filter, ensuring it was clean, checking the water drain level, etc. Everything appeared to be fine but the unit did not work. I called edgestar and they informed me that the product labor warranty was only 3 months but the parts were covered for 1 year. That was great except for the fact that labor is not cheap and I paid a lot of money for the unit already. To have to have it repaired after only 3 months of actual use frustrated me. I don't really have the money to spend on repairing a unit that is virtually brand new. I spoke to several reps at the company and none really seemed to care or have any concern or desire to help. I emailed my complaints via their website which had a check box to request that someone from the company call me. I checked the check box but nobody ever called. I personally will never buy or recommend an edgestar product again. Buyer beware!
