I was excited at first but...
Where to start with my frustration? I initially liked the Elvie. I was excited about not being tied to one place for entire pumping sessions. Over time, however, the problems with this pump have increased and customer service is giving me a hard time. The first issue I had was warped breast shields. I posted a screenshot of the cleaning instructions from the setup. Steam sterilizers warp the shields and the company know about this problem. They replaced one set of breast shields however I had purchased several and lost money following their instructions. The new verbal instructions they give you are to use a cold water disinfecting tab or microwave sterilization. I won’t tell you what fizzwiz tabs run me monthly. Second problem is the valves. I lose suction repeatedly bc of these stupid things. I have bought 3 sets of valves at $16.99 a piece in less than 30 days. When I contacted the company about this issue, they told me to just send them my Amazon purchase number and they would replace them. Now they are giving me a harder time asking me to send photos, etc. The pump leaks. You can’t even bend a tiny bit to change a diaper while wearing them. Isn’t the whole idea of cordless hands-free pumps to be able to MOVE around? You give up ounces of milk if you don’t stand completely still. With as unhappy as I am with the pump, you would at least expect decent customer service. On the phone they say they will replace the parts but then you hang up and the harassing emails start demanding you send them photos of the parts and troubleshooting over and over again. I’m tired. I’m a new mom who invested a lot of money and this is a subpar product. They know it and the least they could do is not harass me about replacing bad parts I already overpaid for. On Facebook moms are literally sharing hacks like putting bags over their pumps so their shirts aren’t soaking wet at work. It’s terrible.
