Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I've had this scale about 6 months. It displayed weights accurately, the display was large, clear and bright and I liked the look of it. Today I heard a loud bang in my bathroom and when I went to see what happened, the scale had shattered spontaneously and pieces of it were all over the floor. There was nothing that could have fallen on top of it because it was under my sink at the time (see pictures). I'm very confused about what could have happened, but I am absolutely not going to trust this brand anymore.
