Navel-gazing...in bed.
I've avoided watching Girls but felt oddly compelled to read Dunham's book. Call it whim, call it a fear of missing the zeitgeist, or blame whispering SoHo devils - I bought the book. After speed-reading through Dunham's signature awkward sexual encounters, trite self-scrutiny, and oblivious whining, I can finally rest assured that I am missing nothing by boycotting the show.
The ultimate litany of White Girl Problems, Dunham's book achieves a pseudo-introspection that James Franco can only envy.
However, Dunham deserves credit for mentioning female genitalia more frequently (and with significantly more acumen) than the American judicial system in 2013.
