Annoying/Frustrating/Confusing/Time Consuming/Redundant
Microsoft has been getting progressively intrusive with each newer version of Windows. The intrusiveness has brought along a feeling of utmost annoyance and persistent anger. It wont allow an unprotected login. Further, each MS outlook ID has to be associated with another 'MS live' login. I have not used hotmail/live/outlook for 10 years as I switched to better and more usable mail interfaces (re Gmail). Nonetheless, I provided my outdated hotmail account just to bypass the installation process (which took 2 hours+ and restarted the pc three times). This morning, I was not able to log in with my password and after repeated attempts, MS instructed me to reset the password at outlook.live.com. The only way one can reset the password is a call/text on the cellphone or an email to the hotmail/live account - why wouldnt they have a couple security questions. why go through the rigamarole of sending the code to another account/device. Leave it to MS engineers to design a process in the most complicated and useless manner possible. what a shame.
