First off I love Star Trek. I remember growing up wondering if I should go to youth bible study so I could stay home and watch Star Trek. I won't tell you what I chose lol. I've pretty much memorize every line in the Star Trek TNG movies, can tell you in the first minutes what each show is about. I am a fan, maybe not the most knowledgeable, but definitely a fan. Now to hear that this show requires me to subscribe,$$, hurts. CBS wants me to pay 6-10 dollars a month to just watch one show is ridiculous. I am already paying for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime etc. I understand each show cost around 8 million to make but it's Star Trek. It should be for the masses and not the few. Granted the legion of fans will still be around but what about the ones who didn't grow up with Star Trek. How can you build new fans when every channel, every station, every cable company, network blah blah blah etc requires you to pay for their services. There are a lot of great shows out there and I personally can't afford to pay say an extra $50 a month on top of cable/internet. I guess I'll see Star Trrk : Discovery when it becomes a rerun in 5 years.
